Gerald Oxley   Tim Harwood  Anthony Rawlinson  Ian Jones
This event was eagerly awaited by both the professional and amateur triathletes. The short course which these brave lads completed was 70.3 miles the equivalent of a half-ironman.
All four finished in the top 250 and Anthony told me that what was really inspiring was to compete alongside the elite pro-athletes who represented the top 10 in the world of the triathlete community both male and female.
Congratulations to all of them for their success in the event, for raising money for children with arthritis and for having the determination the courage and the commitment to undertake this remarkable challenge."

To All Our Supporters:-
Your charity has been funding an Adolescent Transition Co-ordinator at Birmingham Childrens Hospital since February thanks to your generous donations and fund raising activities.
This is the first such appointment in the UK and it has been a resounding success. Marie McGee has made a huge contribution to the health and wellbeing of youngsters with arthritis treated at the hospital.
The attached newsletter  (click the heart link below - The West Midlands Yarn) tells you much more about what Marie has been doing under the guidance of Janet McDonagh the Paediatric Rheumatology Consultant who initiated this project.  We are continuing to work closely with Janet and are exploring the possibility of peer group support events to be run in 2010.  We are hoping that the success of this new role will encourage the other centres for children with arthritis to look at their transition service.
The trustees wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
